Summary

The Department of Family and Community Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine is offering an innovative full-time primary care research fellowship to doctoral students, including those with clinical and non-clinical research degrees. This fellowship features a two-year core curriculum, emphasizes multidisciplinary team-based mentoring, and offers a diverse spectrum of primary care research opportunities. An optional third year will be available to fellows who desire further expertise and preparation in a certain field or area of primary care research (e.g., cost-effectiveness analysis).

Job Duties

  • Completes applied research projects.
  • Prepares and submit scholarly articles.
  • Attends scientific networking workshops/conferences.
  • Write grants for extramural funding with the assistance of a faculty mentoring team.
  • Attends weekly didactic and applied sessions as part of their core curriculum, as well as a monthly research seminar and Fellows' Forum. These structured activities will give fellows an opportunity to interact, serve as peer reviewers and advisors to one another, and provide feedback to the faculty regarding the quality and direction of the fellowship training program.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Social, Behavioral Science, Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Services Research or other related field.
